General terms and conditions of the ticket shop
I. Scope of application
Contractual relationships arise from the purchase of tickets between the ticket holder (customer or ticket holder) and the Deutscher Basketball Bund e.V. (DBB), a non-profit association registered under German law with its registered office at Schwanenstraße 6-10, 58089 Hagen, Germany.
The General Terms and Conditions of the DBB (GTC) govern the contractual relationship between the customer and the DBB in relation to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Berlin, which will take place in Germany from September 04 to 13, 2026 (event).
By placing an order, the customer accepts these GTC.
The DBB is responsible for organizing and staging the games of the event in Germany. In this sense, the DBB is the host of the event, while FIBA (International Basketball Federation) acts as the promoter.
II Conclusion of Contract, Cancellation
The binding offer to conclude a contract is made by the customer as soon as he or she completes the order process for the selected online tickets. The contract is concluded between the DBB and the customer through the online confirmation.
No guarantee is given for the accuracy of the data contained in the online system.
DBB is entitled to cancel a customer order for which a transaction number / order number / order number has already been assigned (unilateral right of withdrawal) if the customer violates specific conditions set by the organizer, which were pointed out during the advance sale, or attempts to circumvent them (e.g. violation of restrictions on the number of tickets per customer, in particular resale bans, attempted circumvention by registering and using multiple user profiles, etc.). Cancellation/withdrawal may also be declared implicitly by crediting the amounts paid.
Each customer is obliged to comply with all measures taken by the authorities of the LOCs to prevent a possible pandemic with regard to participation in the event. The same applies to safety and hygiene concepts, including but not limited to those issued by DBB, the LOCs and/or third parties. In the event of non-compliance, DBB reserves the right to exclude the customer concerned from (further) participation in the event.
III Price components & payment modalities
The price for tickets purchased in the ticket shop is made up of the basic ticket price and the advance booking and system fees. The statutory VAT is included in the price.
Payment can be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) or via PayPal. For national events, the order is processed via an SSL-secured connection with the help of CTS Eventim AG & Co. KGaA (head office: Contrescarpe 75A, 28195 Bremen, Germany).
IV. Delivery of the purchased online tickets
Tickets purchased via the Ticket Shop are delivered by sending a print@home or mobile ticket to an e-mail address provided by the customer during the purchase process.
The type of tickets and delivery can be changed at any time at our discretion and ordered as an additional service in accordance with Section V below.
V. Additional services
If, instead of an online ticket, the customer wishes to have a hard ticket (thermal or laser printing on a ticket blank) produced, packaged and sent to them, which is otherwise only available at stationary sales outlets, additional charges will be levied. The amount of these fees depends on the type of mailing. The fee is displayed in the shopping cart when ordering these additional services. There are no other additional costs. If the booking is made a few days before the event, the tickets will no longer be sent.
VI Limitations of liability, exclusion of withdrawal in the event of certain breaches of duty
The DBB shall in any case be liable without limitation under the Product Liability Act, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, in the event of fraudulent concealment of defects, and for damage resulting from injury to life, limb or health. Liability for damages arising from the breach of a guarantee is also unlimited.
In the event of a breach of material contractual obligations (so-called cardinal obligations) which is only due to simple negligence, DBB's liability shall be limited to compensation for foreseeable damage typical of the contract.
Except in the cases mentioned in paragraphs 1 and 2, the DBB is not liable for damages caused by simple negligence.
The customer's right to withdraw from the contract due to a breach of duty for which the organizer is not responsible and which does not consist of a defect in the goods is excluded.
Insofar as the liability of the DBB is excluded or limited in accordance with the above paragraphs, this shall also apply to the liability of its vicarious agents and assistants.
VII Return/refund of tickets
Even if the DBB offers tickets via means of distance communication within the meaning of Section 312c (2) of the German Civil Code (BGB) and thus a distance contract may exist in accordance with Section 312c (1) BGB, the customer has no right of withdrawal when purchasing a ticket in accordance with Section 312g (2) No. 9 BGB. This means that there is no two-week right of withdrawal and return.
Every offer or order for tickets is therefore binding immediately after confirmation by DBB and obliges the customer to accept and pay for the tickets ordered. Tickets lost or destroyed by the customer will not be replaced or refunded. The reimbursement of the purchase price of tickets as a gesture of goodwill is subject to the decision of DBB, which is made on a case-by-case basis.
The ticket price cannot be refunded if the event has not yet been definitively scheduled at the time the tickets are ordered. The same applies if a match of the event is canceled. The tickets remain valid in any case.
If the event is canceled, the ticket holder can cancel the transaction by returning the original ticket to the ticket agency from which the ticket was purchased. In this case, no processing, system or shipping fees will be refunded.
VIII. Transfer of tickets
To avoid violence and criminal offenses in connection with entering the venues, to enforce venue bans, to prevent the resale of tickets at inflated prices and to separate fans of different teams from each other as well as to ensure the safety of spectators, it is in the interest of the DBB to restrict the distribution of tickets. Tickets may therefore only be sold for private reasons and not commercially. The ticket holder is in particular:
the sale of tickets on auction portals;
the sale of tickets for commercial purposes without the express prior written consent of the DBB;
the sale of tickets as part of a private transfer at a higher price than that stated on the tickets;
the transfer of tickets to persons who have been excluded from attending basketball matches for security reasons; and
passing on or using tickets without the express prior written consent of the DBB for the purposes of advertising, marketing, as a bonus, promotional gift, prize or as part of an unauthorized hospitality or travel package prohibited.
If the ticket is transferred, the customer must inform DBB of the name, address and date of birth of the new ticket holder at DBB's request.
If a ticket is used for the aforementioned unauthorized purposes or if the ticket holder violates these GTC in any other way, the ticket loses its validity. In this case, the DBB is entitled to block the ticket - also electronically - and to refuse the ticket holder access to the venues without compensation or to expel him/her from the venues.
IX. Sound and image recordings
For public reporting and advertising of the event, the DBB and other associations involved in the event (FIBA) or third parties commissioned or otherwise authorized by them (e.g. radio, press) may independently make video and audio recordings in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, which may show the ticket holder as a spectator of the event.
The legitimate interest of the DBB or third parties commissioned or otherwise authorized by them (e.g. radio, press) lies in the interest of showing and exploiting the event in question in the media. These image and sound recordings may be processed, used and publicly reproduced by the DBB and other associations as well as by third parties authorized by them (e.g. radio, press) within the scope of the same legitimate interest.
The ticket holder can object to the use of their image and sound recordings at any time, without giving reasons and free of charge. An objection can be sent, for example, to datenschutz@basketball-bund.de. Details can be found here.
If a customer purchases tickets not only for himself, but also for other ticket holders with an effective right to visit, the customer is required to ensure that the information in this section and section XIII. is forwarded to the ticket holder concerned.
X. House rules
Access to the venues is only possible with a valid ticket. Admission to the venues is subject to compliance with the house rules. Holders of discounted tickets are obliged to present an ID or other proof that entitles them to the discount. The DBB is entitled to exercise domiciliary rights at any time. The ticket loses its validity when leaving the event. When attending the games of the event, the customer must comply with and observe the respective house rules of the venues as well as the FIBA rules, which are available under Venue Rules.
In the interest of security and the orderly and smooth running of the event, the ticket holder must follow the instructions of the police, the DBB, the LOCs and the security personnel as well as the venue management of the venues. Every ticket holder is obliged to cooperate with the police, the organizers, the security personnel and the venue management in order to verify his/her identity and, if necessary, to tolerate the confiscation of prohibited items in his/her possession.
Pyrotechnic items, in particular fireworks or smoke candles, weapons of any kind and similarly dangerous items, glass containers, cans, spirits and alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or other items that impair the enjoyment of the games at the event or the comfort or safety of other visitors, players or officials are prohibited.
The same applies to advertising, commercial, political or religious objects of any kind, including banners, signs, symbols or flyers. The aforementioned items may not be brought into the venues; the DBB is entitled to temporarily confiscate them. It is forbidden to chant or spread racist, xenophobic or extreme right-wing slogans.
Ticket holders are prohibited from entering the pitch and other restricted areas. Persons who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, who are violent or whose behavior is contrary to public order or who cause concern through such behavior may be expelled from the venues.
Without the prior consent of the DBB, ticket holders are not permitted to record sounds, images, descriptions or results of the event (except for private purposes) or to transmit or distribute them in whole or in part via the internet or other media channels (including mobile communications) or to other persons in support of such activities. Equipment or systems that may be used for such activities may not be brought into the venues without the prior consent of the DBB.
Pictures taken by ticket holders during a match at the event may only be used for private purposes. Any commercial use, regardless of the type of publication, requires the prior written consent of the DBB. The customer may not collect, archive or distribute match data from the event for commercial purposes.
The unauthorized sale of drinks, food, souvenirs, clothing, promotional items, fan merchandise and/or other commercial items is prohibited. Other claims for damages remain unaffected by this.
In addition, the DBB reserves the right to exclude persons who violate these prohibitions from purchasing tickets in the future, to expel them from the venues and/or to take further legal action against them.
XI. Binding text
These GTC have been drawn up in German and translated into other languages available in the Ticket Shop. In the event of a discrepancy between the German and the translated version, the German version shall prevail.
XII. Unforeseen circumstances
The DBB and the LOC reserve the right to change the time, date and location of the event and/or match(es) due to unforeseen exceptional circumstances: Force majeure such as a pandemic, security reasons or other decisions by the competent authorities that have a significant impact on the match at the venue.
XIII Data protection
For the DBB, compliance with the applicable data protection regulations is a matter of course. DBB uses the data in accordance with the statutory provisions, in particular the provisions of the GDPR. All personal data transmitted by the customer will be collected, processed and used by DBB in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations. In this respect, reference is made to the privacy policy available here.
XIV Severability clause and amendment
The DBB reserves the right to amend these GTC if this is necessary to ensure the proper and safe running of the event and/or the match(es) concerned. The DBB will inform each ticket holder of such changes by e-mail to the address provided by the ticket holder.
Should individual provisions of these GTC be declared void, ineffective, illegal or unenforceable by a competent court, a supervisory authority or an authority, the remaining provisions of these GTC shall remain in force as if these void, ineffective, illegal or unenforceable provision(s) had not been included.
XV Final provisions
These GTC are governed exclusively by German law.
If the buyer is a merchant or a legal entity under public law, the competent court in Hagen (Germany) shall be the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from these GTC. This provision shall also apply to cross-border contracts concluded with non-merchants.
The DBB does not undertake and is not prepared to use alternative dispute resolution bodies to settle disputes with consumers.
