CASTELLO Düsseldorf will then host a total of 15 matches over eight days from 17 to 24 August. The multifunctional arena in the south of Düsseldorf will seat more than 3,000 people.
The German team will open the tournament with a match against Greece, and on 24 August fans can look forward to the top match in Group C between Germany and Turkey.
The road to the final
The other preliminary rounds will take place in Belgium, Estonia and Italy. Belgium and Italy can then also look forward to the round of 16 and quarter-final duels, with the semi-finals and finals then taking place in Belgium at the beginning of September.
50 years of European Volleyball
This year's championship coincides with the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the European Volleyball Federation (CEV) and is therefore something very special. The federation was founded in 1973. The first European Women's Volleyball Championship took place in 1949 - and the Soviet Union/Russia is the most successful team in the history of this competition with 19 titles.
