Alberta Cross made their mark nearly twenty years ago with their debut album, The Thief & The Heartbreaker. The Anglo-Swedish band, led by Petter Ericson Stakee, fitted perfectly into an indie world that was celebrating acts such as Bon Iver, Okkervil River, Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket. The album, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2027, was reimagined by the band in 2024, featuring guests including Joseph Arthur, Dan Mangan, Band of Skulls and Katie Melua.

To this day, Alberta Cross remain a reliable force when it comes to compelling storytelling at the intersection of indie, folk, rock ’n’ roll and blues. Songs such as “Broken Side Of Time”, “Old Man Chicago”, “Low Man” and “Find A Home Out There” continue to send shivers down audiences’ spines in a live setting. For several months now, Alberta Cross have been preparing their audience for their upcoming album, which was recorded at Paul Weller’s studio in London. A steady stream of new singles eventually came together on the EP Transmissions From A Falling Sky, released at the end of May. The bluesy rock song “Cold Halo”, “Let It Slide”, with its distinct My Morning Jacket vibe, and the folky, almost pop-inflected ballad “My Hearts Desire” are clear highlights in the band’s body of work.

Although the album’s release date has yet to be announced, Alberta Cross are now unveiling the first dates of their 2027 European tour. The tour will kick off in Germany in April, where the band have built up a loyal following over the years.
