Der Countdown zum neuen Album läuft: Nachdem HAIM im März mit „Relationships“ die erste Single-Auskopplung ihres vierten Albums veröffentlicht haben, folgt jetzt „Everybody’s tring to figure me out“ als zweiter Vorgeschmack der drei Schwestern. Kraftvolle Percussions im Intro, ein treibender Rock-Sound und genug Raum für nachdenkliche Zeilen. Hier könnt ihr reinhören:

In „Everybody’s tring to figure me out“ geht es um das Gefühl, missverstanden zu werden. Danielle Haim, Lead-Gitarristin und Sängerin, schreibt auf Instagram: „This next song we will be releasing is my favorite song we’ve written in the last couple years. Writing it has gotten me through some hard times, and we felt this might be of some use to get our vibes right for this summer!“ Als sie nach der vergangenen Tour nach Hause kam, habe sie eine Panikattake gehabt, erklärt die Musikerin in dem Post. Daraufhin habe sie angefangen an dem Song zu arbeiten. „I was very confused because I was SO SO SO happy about our incredible tour, but something about being alone with myself scared the shit out of me. After a lot of reflecting I realized I’ve let a lot of people try and tell me how I should live my life, but I realized in making everyone else happy, I lost myself.“ Indem sie mit „Everybody’s tring to figure me out“ ihre Gefühle verarbeiten konnte, sei es ihr wieder gelungen, an sich zu glauben und die Angst ablagen, das zu tun, was sie will. „I hope this finds anyone who needs it“.
