Von der Bundesautobahn A6: Ab Anschlussstelle Schwabach West auf der Bundesstraße B 466 Richtung Gunzenhausen/Abenberg fahrend am Kreisverkehr Richtung Kammerstein abzweigen. Von dort über Neumühle noch ca. 4 km nach Abenberg.
Von der Bundesautobahn A9: Ab Anschlussstelle Allersberg Richtung Roth fahren (ca. 10 km). In Roth der Beschilderung Richtung Ansbach folgen. Ab Roth über Rothaurach, Aurau und Kleinabenberg nach Abenberg (ca. 8 km).
PKW-Parkplätze sind in ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden und ausgeschildert.
Sicherlich bietet eine mittelalterliche Burg nicht den besten Untergrund für Rollstuhlfahrer. Nichtdestotrotz sind die meisten Bereiche per Rollstuhl zu erreichen. Eine Begleitperson ist ausdrücklich empfohlen. Behindertengerechte Toiletten befinden sich am Haupteingang und im Inneren der Burganlage. Letztere ist per Aufzug erreichbar.
