Die 1968 gegründeten Birth Control wurden besonders durch ihren Hit "Gamma Ray" weltbekannt, Guru Guru um "Orchesterchef" Mani Neumeier gibt’s seit ebenfalls seit Ende der Sechziger und gehörte zu den führenden Bands ds damaligen Rock Undergrounds. Mit "Elektrolurch" hatte Guru Guru ein Album, welches bis heute als wegweisend gilt.
